Guide to Niagara

There is no question about Niagara Falls being one of the top wonders of the world. With a188-foot waterfall and speeds up to 68 mph, these falls are a force of nature. They are also a marvelous sight to behold, whether during the day or at night. The Falls also highlight the special relationship that the US and Canada share.

Top Attractions in the City:

Maid of the Mist

Naturally the main sight of Niagara Falls is the natural wonder itself. And the best way to really get a spectacular view is to immerse yourself quite literally within the falls. Since 1840, the boats have been taking visitors right to the base of the falls. While you will get soaked-they provide ponchos- the views and the experience will stay with you forever.

Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens & Butterfly Conservatory

For a quieter time in the city, head to these beautiful gardens and butterfly conservatory. Home to thousands of butterflies, this park is best enjoyed in the spring and summertime. With over 100 acres, you’ll find yourself getting lost in hundreds of well-maintained gardens. Visit at the height of spring, and you’ll see a sea of blooming flowers. Admission to the gardens is free and they are open from sunrise to sunset.

Old Fort Niagara

If you want to take a break from natural marvels, then Old Fort Niagara is for you and history buffs alike. This 17th century fort has borne witness to epic battles from the Revolutionary War and the French and Indian war. This fort, also the longest operational fort in America, has been in British, French, and finally American hands.
