With each ticket purchased, each traveler is entitled to one piece of complimentary baggage. Additional baggage can be brought for $30 per piece and must be pre-paid. This is solely applicable to bags and other items stored in the luggage compartment. Smaller items, such as luggage that may sit on the traveler's lap, are not tallied. Yes, but it will cost more. We charge $30 for each additional item of luggage.

While college students account for most users on various routes, you do not need to be a current student to take the bus. We invite passengers from the greater community, including students' relatives and family members, teachers, university personnel and people looking for a convenient mode of transportation.
The bulk of our college break routes were designed in response to suggestions from students and parents. Send an email to PR@ourbus.com with details on your preferred route, including which college it serves, how many other students travel in the same direction, and any other information you feel may be beneficial. Our route planners would be glad to get your input.
The driver decides when to take rest breaks during the trip. Typically, outings lasting less than four hours do not involve a break. Longer journeys lasting 5 hours or more usually include a stop halfway through for passengers to use the restroom or grab a quick snack. It's always a good idea to carry a snack because food options at rest areas may be limited, and pauses are brief.
At some colleges, students leave campus on different days based on their test schedule at the conclusion of the semester. We occasionally run buses on many days, however certain routes may not have enough passengers to justify this. To convey your desired travel date, please email pr@ourbus.com or upvote the trip.
To reschedule your OurBus ticket, here's how it works. If your scheduled departure is more than 60 minutes away, you can simply reschedule your original ticket(date of travel and departure time only) on our website by choosing the reschedule button on your passes or your ticket. If the transaction amount is higher than your available Wallet credits, then you can pay the difference via the available payment methods. In cases where the transaction amount is lesser, the balance will be stored in your Wallet for future use.
The DC Trails/Best Bus tickets can be canceled more than 24 hours before the departure time. DC Trails/Best Bus tickets can be rescheduled more than 1 hour and up to 24 hours from the scheduled departure time through the reschedule link provided on the DC Trails/Best Bus ticket. Once the ticket has been modified, it will not be eligible for a refund.
Passengers may bring one suitcase (up to 50 lbs) for storage in the cargo hold and one handbag to be kept on their lap. Carry-on suitcases are considered regular suitcases due to limited overhead space.
For intercity routes, extra luggage requires an add-on purchase during booking, except for buses operated by DC Trails, Interstate Bus, Gunther via Tripper Bus, Super Trans, Community Coach, Vision Tours via Sprinter Bus, and other cross-selling partners, where an additional ticket must be purchased to accommodate extra luggage.
Only 2 bicycles can be accommodated in the luggage compartment and such passengers should reach the pickup stop at least 30 minutes before.
OurBus does not allow animals or pets of any kind, except for trained service animals assisting a traveler. Service animals must be in a harness and under the control of a passenger at all times.
