It is Metro Center, on 11th St NW between F and G Streets. Reading every Washington route page we publish, we found it listed on exactly one of them — the bus from DC to Hamilton Township, New Jersey — and only in the outbound direction. The return leg lists a different stop.
Metro Center is the Washington stop that appears on the fewest of our route pages, and knowing which stops your own corridor offers is the practical reason to read on.
How many DC stops do we actually use?
Five. We read our Washington route pages across eight corridors — New York, Hamilton, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond, Blacksburg, Ithaca and Morgantown — which is sixteen directions in total, and counted how many list each stop.
| DC stop | Directions that list it |
|---|---|
| Stadium-Armory Metro station, 19th St SE | 14 |
| Union Station Bus Terminal, Slip 30 | 3 |
| Dupont Circle, corner of 20th St and Massachusetts Ave NW | 3 |
| Foggy Bottom, 23rd St NW and I St NW | 2 |
| Metro Center, 11th St NW between F and G Streets | 1 |
Counted from our own route pages on October 12, 2026. Some directions are published under more than one slug, so these sixteen directions span nineteen page URLs. Three further corridors — Norfolk, Williamsburg and Newark — are listed as not currently on sale and name no Washington stop. Stops change, so your booking is the authority on where your own bus goes.
One stop appears on almost every direction. Two more are available only on the New York corridor and the outbound to Hamilton Township. Two are tied to a single corridor each.
So which corridors get a choice? Union Station and Dupont Circle appear together on the same three directions — New York both ways, plus the outbound to Hamilton Township. If you are heading to or from New York, three of the five stops are open to you, which is more than a rider on any other corridor gets.
Why does Stadium-Armory appear on almost everything?
The honest answer is that we can tell you where it appears, not why. Our route pages list stops without explaining them.
What the count does show is clean: Stadium-Armory is the Washington stop on every corridor we publish except Morgantown. Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond, Blacksburg, Ithaca, Hamilton Township and New York all use it, in both directions, which is how one stop reaches fourteen of sixteen.
The descriptions vary slightly between corridors. One page gives it as the farthest north bus bay on 19th St SE. Another locates it on the east side of 19th St SE just south of E. Capitol St, past the D24 bus stop. Consider that variation a reason to read your own ticket, since the same stop name can come with different bay instructions depending on which service you booked.
There is a practical upside to one stop carrying so much. If your plans change and you end up on a different corridor out of Washington, you are probably still leaving from the same place you already know.
So what is Metro Center for?
A single direction of a single route. The DC to Hamilton Township service lists four Washington pickup points — Union Station, Dupont Circle, Stadium-Armory and Metro Center — while the Hamilton to DC return lists Stadium-Armory as its only Washington drop-off.
Metro Center is therefore a boarding point you cannot be brought back to, on the pages we currently publish. That has one consequence worth planning around.
- Going out, you have four options. That is more than any other Washington corridor offers.
- Coming back, confirm your drop-off. The return is listed as Stadium-Armory, which is a different part of the city from Metro Center, so check the drop-off on your own confirmation and plan how you are getting home from there.
Both directions run twice a day over about 172 miles, from $25, in around three and a half hours. The pickup point is the detail that changes most between the two legs, so give it a moment when you book.
Which DC stop should you actually choose?
That depends on where your day is going, and we have covered it for the New York corridor already: our guide to the DC day trip from NYC compares Union Station, Dupont Circle and Stadium-Armory for a day in the city.
What that guide does not cover, because the New York route does not use them, are the two single-corridor stops. If your route offers one, it is worth knowing it exists.
What about Foggy Bottom?
Foggy Bottom, at 23rd St NW and I St NW, appears on two of our sixteen directions — the Washington to Morgantown service and its return — and on no other page.
Our route page places it across the street from the Foggy Bottom metro station, so the description gives you both the corner and a landmark. Service on that corridor is currently listed as paused with a resume date on each page, so check the page for your travel date before planning around it.
That pause is the useful lesson here. A stop tied to a single corridor can drop out of your options entirely when that corridor does, which is the position Foggy Bottom is in right now.
Does any of this matter for a group?

It adds a step, because a group has to agree on a meeting point and then all find it. Four pickup points on one route can help when everyone is coming from a different part of Washington, such as a group converging from several neighborhoods on a weekday morning. The same four points cause trouble if nobody checks which one is printed on the ticket. So which should you nominate? Whichever one appears on everybody’s booking.
If a group would rather be picked up at one address of its own choosing, that is a charter, and our charter arm covers it through group transportation services. For individual seats, read the stop line on your booking and check fares on the DC to Hamilton route or whichever corridor you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many OurBus stops are there in Washington, DC?
Five named stops across our Washington routes, four of them on currently running service. Stadium-Armory, Union Station Bus Terminal at Slip 30, Dupont Circle and Metro Center are live; Foggy Bottom belongs to the Morgantown corridor, which is listed as paused.
Where is the OurBus Metro Center stop in DC?
On 11th St NW between F and G Streets. It is listed as a pickup point on the outbound DC to Hamilton Township service and on no other route page, and that route’s return drops off at Stadium-Armory instead.
Does OurBus stop at Union Station in Washington?
On some routes only. Union Station Bus Terminal at Slip 30 serves the New York corridor in both directions and the outbound service to Hamilton Township. Our Baltimore, Richmond, Philadelphia, Blacksburg and Ithaca services use Stadium-Armory, so check your own route page rather than assuming.
Which DC stop does the Morgantown bus use?
Foggy Bottom, at 23rd St NW and I St NW, in both directions. It is the only corridor that uses it, and service is currently listed as paused with a resume date shown on each route page.
My route only lists one Washington stop. Is that normal?
Yes, and it is usually Stadium-Armory. Most of our Washington corridors list a single stop in the city, and only the New York corridor and the outbound to Hamilton Township offer a choice of more than one.
Do the boarding instructions at Stadium-Armory differ between routes?
The wording does. One page describes the farthest north bus bay on 19th St SE. Another gives the east side of 19th St SE just south of E. Capitol St. Follow the description printed on your own ticket.
