Quick Guide to Tysons

Tracing its roots back to postmaster William Tyson, Tysons, Virginia started off being known as Peach Grove. In the 1960s, it boomed with the opening of Tysons Corner Mall, which was then the largest enclosed shopping center in the world. More recently, large corporations have move into the area, including Capital One, Hilton and Freddie Mac. It has transformed into a typical edge city, near both Washington DC and Arlington, Virginia.

As with all edge cities, transportation is at the heart of Tysons. In the next few decades, massive urban development is planned, with 75% of building to be within 0.5 miles of a metro station. We are happy to provide expanded bus service connecting Tysons with DC, NYC, NJ and other Virginia locations.

Points of Interest

  1. Tysons Corner Center is truly the center of Tysons. If you want to shop, eat or be entertained, this is the place. It's divided into Tysons 1, with a wide variety of stores and a movie theater, and Tysons 2 that houses more high-end stores. Just a small selection of their stores includes Aldo, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Casper, Crate & Barrel, Disney, Gucci, H&M, Kiehl's, Spanx and Warby Parker. It's open 7 days a week, check the website for times.
  2. If you're looking for a good meal just outside the mall, head to Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar at 1960 Chain Bridge Rd. The last 3 years, they've been recognized by Wine Spectator with the Award of Excellence. Your delicious steak will have something equally impressive to pair with.
  3. Founding Farmers Tysons is another great place for a bite. Try out the homemade paste, 'yummy corn bread' and a selection of small plates and drinks. If the 3,000 reviews are any indication, you'll leave satisfied.
