How do Cornell University Students quarantine before going back to campus?

With the announcement that Cornell University is requiring all students from hot spot states to quarantine for 14 days before returning to campus, hotel demand spiked. So did hotel prices, as rates increased to over $300 per night and only a few of these rooms remain. Students have been disrupted by the pandemic enough so we wanted to do something to help.

OurBus has negotiated a rate of $65 per night at The Courtyard Elmira Horseheads, Fairfield Inn & Suites Elmira Corning and Fairfield Inn Riverside and transportation between there and Ithaca for Cornell students. Students can travel to the hotel via bus from NYC, Binghamton or Ithaca or go on their own. OurBus set up custom charter-style trips to make the journey as easy as possible. There will be food delivery options at the hotel.

After the 14-day period, daily transportation will be provided from the Courtyard Elmira to Ithaca.

What to know about the Cornell Student Quarantine Transportation

Bus trips are booked separately from the hotel reservations. To book from Ithaca, choose your date in the search bar on the top of this page. Alternatively, you can book transportation to the hotel from NYC or Binghamton or arrive on your own.

To get to the Courtyard Elmira, take a direct bus from 130 East Seneca Street in Ithaca NY.

The bus will drop you off at the front door of each hotel, including Courtyard Elmira in Horseheads, located at 202 Colonial Dr, Horseheads, NY, 14845 or the Fairfield Inn & Suites Elmira Corning at 1600 County Route 64 Horseheads, New York 14845 and additional hotels.

How long does the bus take from Ithaca to Elmira?

The bus journey to the Courtyard Marriott and Fairfield Inn will take approximately 45-50 minutes.

When does the bus leave from Ithaca?

What if my plans change or Cornell University changes their policy?

All OurBus tickets purchased on the OurBus website or app can be cancelled for a full refund up to 30 minutes before the departure time, that's The OurBus Assurance. The Courtyard has agreed to free cancellation, without penalty if there are changes due to COVID.

When can I check in to start my quarantine?

You can check in to the hotel as early as August 9, 2020 until August 15, 2020. Your stay will extend for 14 days from the date of check in.

How long is quarantine?

Everyone coming from one of the hot spot states, as identified by New York State, must quarantine for 14 days.
